Run the Rent roll report, turn on the address, tenant, lease date, rent and deposit columns, and export it as CSV. Download any reports and documents you want to keep, too.

Choose the file, confirm how the columns match, review every unit and lease, then import. Running it again skips anything already imported.

Rent tracking starts with the month you choose, so past months don't show as unpaid. Then invite tenants to the portal.

A few common questions
Can I move my properties and leases from Buildium?
Yes. Export a rent roll from Buildium as CSV and import it on the Properties page. RentButler reads the file in your browser, shows you every unit and lease before anything is saved, and skips units and leases you already have.
What about my rent history?
Rent history stays in Buildium; download the reports you need before you cancel. RentButler starts tracking rent from the month you pick, so earlier months are not shown as unpaid.
Does RentButler collect rent online?
Not yet. You record each payment, including partial payments, and late fees are worked out from your grace-period rules. If online rent collection is a must-have today, Buildium may be the better fit.
Is RentButler a good fit for property management companies?
Not today. RentButler doesn't do trust accounting or owner statements. It's built for landlords and investors who manage their own rentals.
